To write a good story requires ...
Something to say. I think the root of a story is not the conflict that triggers the plot or the plot itself, nor how we place or the style we choose as appropriate. When I say "something to say" I do not mean that it must be something important, but something to give us the strength to write, be transformed into desire for powering the entire process. That "something to say," usually never going to be explained by the story-whether it is good-but is just allowing you to have soul.
